The next two weeks as Miss South Dakota were filled with lunch dates, basketball, and Money $heep. On Wednesday, I drove to Mitchell to have lunch with Logan. Her mom reached out to me about the “Lunch with Miss South Dakota” events I do after she judged Miss Mitchell. It was fun to talk with Logan about her involvement in school. We may have a future Miss Mitchell’s Outstanding Teen on our hands!
The next day I drove to Vermillion to babysit my favorite little Coyote. Daisy and I spent the day together. It started at the museum, where she got a picture on the antique firetruck. We visited Café Brulee and the local pharmacist to grab a piece of candy. Days spent with Daisy are ones I always look forward to.
That weekend was the kickoff to the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls. As an avid Coyote Basketball fan, there was no way I was going to miss the final games of the year. I am fortunate to be able to share these memories with my parents.
Week 40 as Miss South Dakota was spent with my friends at Keloland Living. It was Smart Money Week on their afternoon show, so we did a full week of Money $heep segments. The first day we talked about Berkley Budget, the First Foundation of Financial Literacy in Mr. Money $heep. Each day we progressed through the book from Sally Saving to Iggy Income to Larry Loan to Izzy Investment Risk. Each day I enjoyed talking about how I teach kids about financial concepts and the importance of helping kids understand the importance of mastering their financial future.
Tuesday was IHOP National Pancake Day for Children’s Miracle Network. I spent Tuesday morning at Sioux Fall’s local IHOP, greeting people and hanging out with some of our very own Miracle Kids.
Onto another week with the greatest job in the world and giving all the glory and thanks to the Lord.
Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Psalm 100:2
