About Us

Money $heep was founded by Carrie Wintle in 2016 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on helping youth build a financial foundation from which they can tackle the financial world. From a young age, Carrie was intrigued by money.  She loved to watch her savings account grow over time.  In fact, instead of having to convince her to save, her parents often had to persuade her to spend some of the money she earned.  Her passion for finance flourished when she started studying accounting and finance in college.  After completing her undergraduate degree in Accounting and Mathematics, she continues her financial education at Vanderbilt where she is earning her Master’s in Accountancy, Valuation.

Carrie saw an opportunity to use her finance and accounting background to help youth build a base of financial knowledge for themselves.  Hence, Money $heep was born.

Money $heep is centered around the Five Foundations of Financial Literacy: budgeting, saving, income, loans/debt, and investment risk. The five foundations were crafted from our founder’s personal experience raising sheep and her continued education in accounting and finance. Our goal is to help youth build a base of financial knowledge that they can use in their individual lives and the economy around them.

Money $heep Monday - April 30, 2018

Money $heep is in the midst of an ambitious fundraising campaign to donate a copy of Mr. Money $heep to 11,000 third to fifth-grade students across South Dakota and surrounding states. On April 30, 2018 schools and organizations can celebrate Financial Literacy Month by handing out Mr. Money $heep, a book on five financial topics, and allowing their students to take a copy of the book home.  Help us reach our goal by partnering with us or by purchasing your own copy of Mr. Money $heep, where every copy purchased will be matched and donated to a third-grade student.

Our Partners

Money $heep partners with businesses and organizations across the United States to provide financial literacy education to youth. We recently partnered with White Oaks Wealth Advisors to donate 800 copies of Mr. Money $heep to students at the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations in South Dakota.

We are also raising money to donate a copy of Mr. Money $heep to every third grader in South Dakota.  Thanks to our generous sponsors, listed below, we are one step closer to our goal.  If you are interested in partnering with us, please contact our founder, Carrie Wintle, at carrie.wintle@money-sheep.com.
